Karen Underwood Hession
Karen was born and raised in Petal, MS. She began her career in 1980 at Deposit Guaranty National Bank in Hattiesburg. She began in the proof department before cross training in the accounts department and eventually becoming head teller. Karen then moved into home health and worked for seven years at South Mississippi Home Health as Administrative Assistant to the Nurse Management Staff. She then transitioned into Human Resources where she interviewed potential employees for fourteen offices located all over the state. In 1999, Karen joined her family business, Underwood Small Engine, and worked with her two brothers, Mike and David for 25 years as their chief operations officer. Karen joined Southern Securities Group, LLC in May 2024 and has already made her mark by improving overall office morale with her delightful recipes she prepares and shares with the entire staff!
Karen is married to Joey Hession and has two children Whitney and Adam. Karen loves serving others in the community, her church and family. She also has a passion for renovating properties!
